E&S gives Geelong an extra helping hand

As a long time supporter of Give Where You Live (formerly United Way), E&S Trading was excited to make a surprise donation to the Geelong charity last week. At a cocktail event and auction to coincide with the official grand opening of E&S's new Geelong showroom, the company announced it would donate a further $20,000 to Give Where You Live to assist the local community. During the function, E&S Trading's General Manager, Greg Lake, handed over the cheque to Give Where You Live CEO Bill Mithen and golf committee chairman Gary Hill.
The donation is in addition to E&S's ongoing sponsorship of the charity's annual golf day. For more than seven years E&S Trading has been affiliated with the fundraising event, becoming the naming right sponsors of the event. The 2011 E&S Trading Golf Classic will be the 20th annual day which is organised by a committee of Geelong businessman and Give Where You Live staff. Since its inception in 1992, the Classic has raised over $965,000 for those who are disadvantaged in the Geelong region. This year's event is expected to reach the $1 million mark, with proceeds going towards funding community programs in the key areas of health, education and income.
"E&S Trading have been an invaluable supporter of Give Where You Live. In addition to the golf day, they support our Work Places Giving program through personal donations and gift vouchers which are used to encourage people and businesses in other workplaces to commence Workplace Giving," said Mithen.
