It was a occasion for further celebration as the 20th annual E&S Trading Golf Classic teed off earlier this month. With the sun shining down on The Sands golf course in Torquay, players gathered to raise some much-needed funds for Geelong charity, Give Where You Live. A field over over 110 players, including Geelong Cats champion Tom Hawkins and comedian Andrew Startin, hit the green to participate in the Ambrose style event to raise money for the local Geelong community.
A gourmet luncheon followed with a major auction, raffle and trophy presentation. In honour of the event's 20th anniversary guests sang "Happy Birthday," with E&S Trading's Kaye Sinclair cutting the golf ball-shaped cake. The celebrations continued as the announcement came that the E&S Trading Golf Classic has reached the $1 million dollar mark since it first began in 1992.
“The support we have received from E&S Trading has been phenomenal," said organising committee chairman, Gary Hill.
Funds from the event will be donated to Give Where You Live which supports over 70 community partners who work to overcome disadvantage in the areas of health, education and income in the Geelong region. If you'd like to donate to this worthy cause, visit givewhereyoulive.com.au
