Small bathroom space-saving storage ideas

Small bathroom? Big potential! Just because you have a small bathroom doesn't mean you can't be creative when it comes to storing all of your personal items. A quick browse of Pinterest offers plenty of nifty storage ideas for any sized bathroom, big or small. The great thing about most of these solutions is that they are very affordable and easily accessible. For keeping all of your bits and bobs (e.g. toothbrushes, cotton balls, comb, brush, etc) within close reach we love this terracotta pot idea (above, left). Likewise it is amazing what a few random jars, baskets and containers can do to maximise storage space in a small bathroom area. Not only do they look effective, they are also a great way to keep all of your toiletries organised. The same thing can be achieved by adding a few cup holders attached to the wall, hooks, open shelves and under sink shelving.
If you are really stuck for space then don't look out, look up! There are plenty of ways to take advantage of higher points within your bathroom for items that you don't use as regularly as others. One of the most popular storage ideas is a step ladder (above, right) which can double as a place to keep towels, toilet paper rolls, loofahs and other bathroom items. Depending on the size and design of your bathroom, a shelf above the door is another great way to maxmise space, as are corners and gaps between showers, basins and toilets. Once again this is a great excuse to visit your local $2 dollar shop, storage or office supplies store to pick up baskets, jars, bins, and document boxes which offer new and fun ways to store all of your bathroom essentials.
